Let your child's creativity soar in our exciting 5-week art block!

For the first three weeks, young innovators will step into a Dragon's Den-style project, teaming up to dream up unique products, build prototypes, and present their ideas in a fun, supportive pitch session. In the final three weeks, kids will dive into the whimsical world of 3D art as they craft their very own Dream World Model, bringing their imagination to life using mixed media. This program is perfect for fostering teamwork, confidence, and artistic expression. Reserve your spot today and watch your child’s creativity flourish!

Week 1- 3

Dragon’s Den-style project where kids pitch their creative business or product ideas. This plan encourages teamwork, creativity, and public speaking in a fun and supportive environment.

Lesson 1: Idea Generation and Team Formation

Objective: Brainstorm innovative ideas and form teams to develop their business or product concepts.

Activities:

Introduction to the Dragon's Den Concept:

Explain how entrepreneurs pitch ideas to a panel of investors (the "Dragons").

Show a short, kid-friendly video clip of a Dragon's Den-style pitch or explain using examples like lemonade stands or toy inventions.

Brainstorming:

Provide prompts such as:

"What problem do you want to solve?"

"What would make your life more fun or easier?"

"What could you invent that no one has thought of yet?"

Kids jot down ideas individually or in pairs.

Team Formation:

Organize kids into small teams (2-4 members).

Each team selects their favorite idea to develop.

Begin sketching their product or service concept.

Homework/Preparation:

Teams brainstorm a name for their product or business.

Optional: Assign roles (e.g., designer, marketer, presenter).

Lesson 2: Product Development and Pitch Preparation

Objective: Develop the product idea and prepare a pitch to present to the Dragons.

Activities:

Refining the Idea:

Teams create a detailed description of their product or service:

What does it do?

Who is it for?

Why is it unique?

Encourage them to create a slogan or tagline.

Prototyping:

Provide materials like paper, cardboard, markers, clay, and tape.

Teams build a simple prototype or draw a detailed visual representation of their product.

Pitch Practice:

Introduce the structure of a good pitch:

Greet the Dragons and introduce the team.

Explain the problem and how their product solves it.

Show the prototype and explain its features.

End with a confident closing statement.

Teams practice their pitches with feedback from the teacher or peers.

Homework/Preparation:

Finalize the pitch and rehearse it as a team.

Lesson 3: The Dragon’s Den Presentation

Objective: Present the product ideas to the Dragons and celebrate everyone’s creativity.

Activities:

Setting the Stage:

Set up a panel of "Dragons" (can be the teacher, older students, or other kids).

Create a fun atmosphere with a “pitch zone” for presentations.

Team Pitches:

Each team presents their pitch (3-5 minutes each).

The Dragons ask friendly questions about the product and provide positive feedback.

Awards and Celebration:

Give fun awards like:

Most Creative Idea

Best Teamwork

Most Persuasive Pitch

Celebrate with a group photo and applause for all teams.

Extensions/Extras:

Invite parents or another class to watch the final pitches.

Have a class vote on the most promising idea.

This plan balances teamwork, critical thinking, and fun! Would you like more details on any part?

Week 4-5

Project Theme: "My Dream World in 3D"

Kids create a fantastical 3D artwork representing their dream world using mixed media. Each session focuses on a different stage of the project.

Session 1: Dream World Planning and Background

Objective: Introduce the concept of a "dream world" and create a background for the artwork.

Activities:

Brainstorming:

Ask kids to imagine their dream world: Is it underwater, in outer space, or a magical forest?

Have them sketch quick ideas on paper.

Create the Background:

Provide cardstock, poster board, or shoebox lids (for a diorama approach).

Kids paint or collage a background using watercolors, tempera paints, or magazine cutouts.

Encourage layering techniques, such as adding clouds, stars, or landscapes.

Sculpting and Assembling:

Provide materials like air-dry clay, pipe cleaners, tissue paper, and cardboard.

Kids sculpt or construct elements like trees, animals, castles, spaceships, or other objects from their dream world.

Add Dimension:

Attach elements to the background using glue, tape, or string (for hanging objects).

Add textures with materials like cotton balls (clouds), foil (water), or glitter (stars).

Session 2: Finishing Touches and Presentation

Objective: Add details, assemble the final project, and share with the group.

Activities:

Detailing:

Kids use markers, paints, or embellishments to add patterns, faces, or highlights to their 3D objects.

Add interactive features, like pop-up elements or movable parts.

Final Assembly:

Ensure all pieces are securely attached.

Help kids write a title or description of their dream world.

Showcase:

Create a mini art gallery or presentation where kids explain their dream worlds to their

All materials are provided for. Please feel free to provide your child with snacks and a drink if you like.

These classes are suitable for 8-16 year olds.
