Theme: Creativity & Skill Development
Week 1: Introduction to Font Development
Understanding typography and letterform styles
Practicing hand-drawn fonts: serif, sans-serif, and decorative
Creating a personalized name design using different font styles
Week 2: Expressive Lettering & Word Art
Exploring the art of calligraphy and graffiti-style fonts
Adding depth and dimension with shadows and highlights
Designing a word or short phrase with expressive typography
Week 3: Cartoonifying Characters
Basics of cartoon anatomy and exaggerated features
Transforming real-life objects or people into cartoon versions
Creating a unique cartoon character with distinct personality traits
Week 4: Emotion & Movement in Cartoons
Using facial expressions and body language in cartoons
Drawing dynamic poses and action lines for movement
Storyboarding a simple scene with cartoon characters
Week 5: Shading Techniques & Depth
Exploring different shading methods: hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, and blending
Applying shading to create light, shadow, and depth
Shading practice on objects, faces, and backgrounds
Week 6: Final Project & Showcase
Combining font design, cartooning, and shading skills
Creating a polished final piece incorporating learned techniques
Group showcase and constructive feedback session
